In 1879, Monsignor Elzear Brochu, a Southbridge pastor in failing health, pledged to Saint Anne that if he were to regain his strength, he would propagate her devotion by building a shrine in her honor. He did recover his health, so he purchased the land and had the present Saint Anne Church constructed in 1883. He predicted that great wonders would be worked there.
We shall meet at the Shrine. The day will begin at 11:00 AM with Fr. Anthony leading us in pray at the outdoor Stations of the Cross, followed with Fr. Anthony celebrating an outdoor Mass with Fr. Anthony blessing us with the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
You can then go for a warm meal in the nearby town of Sturbridge, MA.
The address to Saint Anne's Shrine is 16 Church Street, Fiskdale, MA 01518.
