Father Omolo, son of John and Helen Milugo, was born Feb. 5, 1983 in Kenya. He studied at St. Gabriel’s Minor Seminary in Kisumu, Kenya, and Spiritan Missionary Seminary in Arusha, Tanzania, where he got his bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
In 2006 he came to the United States to study for the priesthood with the Glenmary Home Missioners, and attended Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky. In 2009 he came to Worcester to prepare for the priesthood for the Worcester Diocese. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sacred theology at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, and his master’s of divinity degree at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop McManus on June 7, 2014 in St. Paul Cathedral. He was named associate pastor of St. Peter Parish, Worcester, with ministry to the African community. In October, 2015 he was named associate pastor at St. George Parish, Worcester, while remaining sacramental minister to the African community. He later became Associate Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Charlton from July 1, 2019 until July 1, 2021.
Father Charles Omolo has been named administrator of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Lunenburg, Massachusetts and chaplain to Fitchburg State University, effective July 1, 2021.
